Parichay is a social service initiative with a mission to enhance the economic and educational empowerment of sex workers in New Delhi, India. The initiative is primarily focused on advocating for the legal and healthcare rights of these individuals, to increase their access to basic resources and ensure that they receive adequate support to thrive in society.
The initiative aims to address the lack of access to and awareness of rights and protection for sex workers by curating and disseminating a holistic resource kit. This kit will comprise of a database of pro-bono legal clinics, a series of factsheets highlighting existing legal safeguards and a list of NGOs working to protect the rights of sex workers, and a comprehensive guide detailing the health, safety, and social risks commonly associated with sex work. Parichay hopes to destigmatize sex work in India and empower sex workers with equal access to healthcare and legal protection so that they can lead a healthy and dignified life.
