Adiva Agarwal is a student at the Sanskriti School in New Delhi, India, where she studies English, Economics, Math, Physics, and Chemistry. She is particularly interested in Economics and its intersection with Environmental Studies, and has completed courses at the Columbia Pre-College Summer Immersion program that delve into concepts of entrepreneurship, venture creation, and the impact of climate change on evolving urban landscapes. In July, 2022, Adiva launched RePurpose, an environmental and social advocacy program focused on highlighting the excessive carbon footprint caused by the global fashion industry, with the aim of motivating India’s youth to explore sustainable alternatives.
Adiva is also a trained classical dancer and has been practicing Kuchipudi since the age of 6, under the tutelage of renowned dancer Dr. Raja Radha Reddy. She has also been a member of Mudra, the Sanskriti School Dance Club since 2021, and has performed at various school ceremonies, showcases, and annual day performances.
Additionally, Adiva has been playing the piano for over nine years, and has passed the Grade 4 examinations. She is also an avid quizzer and was chosen as the 10th Grade Associate for the school Quizzing Society, in which capacity she curates and administers original quizzes to the larger student body to encourage engagement with general knowledge and trivia.
Maheka Nath is a student at the Sanskriti School in New Delhi, India, where she studies English, Science, Math, Social Studies, and Spanish. Maheka is extremely passionate about Computer Science and its myriad applications in modern society and to this end, she has completed courses on coding in Python, delving into introductory concepts as well as its relationship with AI. Eager to make technology more accessible to others, Maheka founded HEARTS (Health Education and Awareness through Resources and Technology for Seniors), a social initiative designed to facilitate increased digital literacy for senior citizens.
Maheka is a member of her school debate club and has participated in several inter-school debates, eventually leading to her speaking about online education at the Bal Education Trust National Debate Competition in June, 2022. Further, she is also a member of GirlUp, a United Nations foundation aimed at securing equal opportunities for adolescent girls from underserved communities in developing countries.
Maheka also strives to balance her academic interests with her fascination for the arts and athletics. She is an active Kathak dancer and is currently learning how to play the guitar. She is also a member of her house basketball team in school in which capacity she attends regular practice matches and participates in inter-house competitions.
